Choosing the platform
Shopify or WooCommerce? How to choose
Both solutions build solid stores. The right choice depends on your business, your tolerance for a recurring cost and how much technical control you want.
| Criterion | Shopify | WooCommerce |
|---|---|---|
| Business model | SaaS, all included | Open-source, self-hosted + OVH hosting |
| Recurring cost (after launch) | ~36 euros/month (Basic plan) | ~3 euros/month (OVH hosting alone) |
| Technical maintenance | Handled by Shopify | On you, or via a specialist provider |
| Updates | Automatic, in the background | You trigger them (core, plugins, theme) |
| Backups | Automatic | To set up (included in maintenance) |
| Customisation | Limited by the Shopify Liquid framework | Very broad (PHP, plugins, custom code) |
| Scalability | Excellent (large catalogues, multi-channel) | Excellent (highly flexible) |
| Support | Shopify support 24/7 | The community, and us as an option |
| Best for | Focusing on selling, without managing the tech | A minimal recurring cost and full control |
Our approach
We do not systematically recommend one over the other. The choice is made during scoping, on four criteria: your catalogue (volume, variants), how much time you have for maintenance, your need for specific integrations and your vision over 12 to 24 months. If you are unsure, the first conversation sets the context and helps steer the decision.
Same price either way
The price is the same whether you choose Shopify or WooCommerce. The difference comes only from the recurring cost after launch.
How it works
24 days, 4 steps
-
Immersion
D0–D3Scoping: Shopify or Woo, the store structure, a product brief, carrier and payment setup.
-
Design
D4–D9Mockups for the key pages (collection, product, cart, checkout), a custom theme, design for the institutional pages.
-
Development
D10–D20Theme build, catalogue setup, payment and shipping configuration, GA4 and Meta Pixel integration, drafting the terms of sale.
-
Launch
D21–D24Sandbox test transactions, training on how to manage it (products, orders, statistics), going into production.
Options

The Pro plan at 1 370 €
No products to sell online yet? The Pro plan covers the showcase, the blog and contacts. You can open a store later, as a dedicated project.

A very small catalogue?
With 1 to 3 products and no complex stock, a Pro website with a simplified payment page (a Stripe Payment Link) can be enough at launch. Worth discussing during scoping.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the E-commerce plan
Answers to the questions that come up most.
Does the price change between Shopify and WooCommerce?
No, the price is the same either way. The technical work is equivalent. The difference comes after delivery, in the recurring cost (around 36 €/month for Shopify, around 3 €/month for WooCommerce) and in managing the technical side yourself.
What happens if I have 30 products from the start?
Beyond the 10 products delivered, expect 20 € per extra product. For 30 products: the base price plus 20 × 20 €, that's 400 € in options. The timeline stays at 24 days as long as the product listings are ready on the content side.
Can I manage my physical and online stock together?
It depends on the platform, and it's handled during scoping based on your logistics:
- On Shopify: yes, with Shopify POS for the physical till (a separate account, with an extra subscription on you if needed).
- On WooCommerce: possible with dedicated plugins.
Can I run Stripe and PayPal side by side?
Yes, the two can coexist. Stripe is our main recommendation (low fees, solid integration). PayPal rounds things out if your customers specifically ask for it.
What's the difference with a store on Etsy or Amazon?
An online store on your own domain belongs to you: your customers, your data, your identity, your margins. Etsy and Amazon take a commission (8 to 15%), impose their own rules, and the customers stay theirs. The two approaches are complementary rather than opposed: a marketplace for testing or volume, your own store for margin and brand.
And after launch, what about maintenance?
It depends on the platform. Our monthly maintenance plans only cover showcase websites.
- On Shopify: no technical maintenance on your side, the platform handles everything (updates, security, backups, performance).
- On WooCommerce: your site is in your hands after delivery. You manage hosting, updates and backups, either on your own if you're comfortable technically, or through a provider who specialises in WordPress/WooCommerce.
Do you run Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns after launch?
No, that's not our core business. The pixel and the tracking are set up at launch; for managing the advertising itself, we point you to specialist partners.
